About Grounds of Judgment
Caribbean legal research,
made rigorous and searchable.
Grounds of Judgment is a legal research platform purpose-built for the Caribbean. We index case law from the Caribbean Court of Justice, Privy Council, and national courts alongside statutes and subsidiary legislation in force — giving practitioners, academics, and informed citizens a single place to find, read, and cite authoritative legal sources.
What we stand for
Built on four commitments
01
Access to Justice
Every citizen deserves to understand the laws that govern their lives — regardless of legal background or income. We remove friction from the path between people and the law.
02
AI for the Public Good
We apply modern AI to real civic problems — turning dense statutory language and complex judicial reasoning into clear, citable answers anyone can act on.
03
Caribbean-First Design
Our work is rooted in the Caribbean context. Every feature is built for the language, the culture, and the practical constraints of the region.
04
Grounded in Primary Sources
Grounds of Judgment indexes authoritative primary sources: judgments from the CCJ, Privy Council, and national courts; statutes and subsidiary legislation in force.
Our coverage
Judgments and legislation from across the region
We index court decisions from Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean Court of Justice, and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council — alongside legislation in force in each jurisdiction.
Coverage is continuously expanded. New judgments are ingested as they are published, with citations, metadata, and full-text search available immediately.
